Barcelona's Disfrutar Named World's Best Restaurant: Here's What It Costs to Dine There

The prestigious "50 Best" list of the world's top restaurants was recently unveiled in Las Vegas, and Disfrutar in Barcelona has claimed the top spot.

This culinary gem, celebrated for its "brilliantly imaginative dishes" and "playful presentation," offers an extraordinary dining experience.

Disfrutar dethroned Central in Lima, Peru, which now joins the Best of the Best list as previous winners become ineligible for the top spot again. The cost of the standard menu at Disfrutar is £247 (€290), providing diners with an impressive array of around 30 courses. For those looking to enhance their experience, a wine pairing is available for an additional £136 (€160).

For a truly unique dining experience, Disfrutar offers a special menu priced between €1,050 and €390 per person, with the cost decreasing as more people join the table.

The 50 Best list describes Disfrutar's offerings as "a combination of brilliantly imaginative dishes, unsurpassed technical mastery, and playful presentation," promising "a dining experience of a lifetime, as full of surprises as it is memories."

Some standout dishes from Disfrutar's menu include:

  • Caviar-filled Panchino doughnut

  • Frozen gazpacho sandwich

  • Thai-style cuttlefish with coconut multi-spherical

  • Squab with kombu spaghetti, almond, and grape

The global representation in the top 50 saw two UK restaurants making the list, though South American, Thai, Italian, French, and Spanish establishments dominated. London's Kol rose slightly to the 17th position, while Ikoyi, which recently partnered with Uber Eats, secured the 42nd spot.
